Looking Forward to 2011

It's New Year's Eve already! With the new year come the inevitable resolutions (I'll post some in a few days), best of the year/decade/century lists and the chance to look forward to a new year.

Here are a few things I'm looking forward to this year:

  1. Vacationing on the Mayan Riviera We honeymooned there in October 2008, and we've been waiting to go back since hopping on the return plane.
  2. Celebrating C's First Birthday in April I'm so excited I've already started planning.
  3. Finishing House Projects The more projects we finish, the closer we are to truly loving our home. Sometimes we get very dissatisfied with it because we have so much to do, but we fall in love with it all over again when a big project is finished. (I'll have more posts about what we plan to do and what I'd like to do.)
I'm so excited to embark on a new year with my family and friends. What are you looking forward to?

Handwritten Thank You Cards

With our Christmas celebrations over, I decided to sit down and write thank you cards to the family and friends who sent gifts to N, C or myself but weren't around to watch us open them. I actually prepared for this before Christmas. As presents arrived, I addressed and stamped the envelopes and had the card ready to be written out. I didn't have to write too many cards, but I think they'll be appreciated by the people who took the time to send presents. I also plan to insert a small picture of C opening her presents.

Does anyone still send out handwritten thank yous for events other than weddings and showers?
